The aim of the conference is: to bring together researchers and professionals from academia and industry who are active in the study of mathematical and numerical models as well as their application to industrial and in general real life problems; to stimulate interdisciplinary research in applied mathematics and to foster interactions of the scientific community with industry.

Five plenary lectures will cover a wide range of topics and a special lecture will be given by a representative of the industrial world. They will be complemented by an extensive program of several minisymposia that aim to cover most of the many different applications of  mathematics to industry, technology, environment, cultural heritage, biology and society. Minisymposia that gather both academic and industrial researchers are welcome. In this edition we organize also a poster session to extend the opportunity of disseminating the results of interesting researches.

On Thursday the 15th in the afternoon the congress will host a special session dedicated to the teaching of mathematics in secondary schools. Participation to the event is free for secondary school teachers registered to SIMAI for 2016. For information and registration visit the EDU-SIMAI event webpage.
